Al-Terra Engineering Ltd. announces Sheldon Hudson as its new President and CEO

Al-Terra Engineering Ltd. is pleased to announce Sheldon Hudson has assumed the role of President and Chief Executive Officer for the company, effective today. Hudson previously served as Vice President and member of the Al-Terra Board of Directors.

He succeeds Corry Broks, who will remain with the company as the Chairman of the Board of Directors, and will continue to manage several of Al-Terra’s high-profile special projects –including Yellowhead Trail and Terwillegar Drive in Edmonton.

Al-Terra has been proactive in developing a transition plan to nurture the next generation of leadership from within the firm, Broks reveals. It is an extension of Al-Terra’s long held commitment to learning and mentorship at all levels.

“It is gratifying to see such strong leadership develop with our company. The time is right for our transition to the next generation of leadership within the firm. I am confident the company is in good hands as we move forward,” Corry Broks says.

Sheldon Hudson started at Al-Terra in 1993 as a civil engineering co-op student from the University of Alberta, and joined the team permanently after graduation in 1996. He has played a key role in Al-Terra’s growth, which includes adding landscape architecture to Al-Terra’s service offering in 2017 through EDA Planning + Urban Design.

The new President and CEO is grateful for the opportunity and appreciative of the support, vision and guidance that Corry Broks (and before him, Leo Broks) brought to Al-Terra. “Corry has been an outstanding leader for our company and has positioned the firm to be one of the most well-respected civil engineering consultants in the Edmonton area. I am honoured to be named as CEO and am excited to lead Al-Terra through the next stage of our journey,” Hudson says.

As part of its transition planning, the Al-Terra management team is excited to unveil a new brand befitting of a dynamic, modern engineering and landscape architecture company that is committed to its clients’ success.

Al-Terra has been proudly serving the evolving needs of public and private sector clients with engineering, planning and design solutions since 1976. As the new President and CEO of Al-Terra, Sheldon is proud to be leading a company that is doing the vital work of getting people where they need to go, and creating places where they want to be.
