I am a project engineer who works in the rural transportation division at Al-Terra. My primary focus is on highways and rural roads, but I have also worked on urban roads as part of collaborative projects. As an engineer, I take the safety of the public very seriously. I prioritize quality, reliability, and integrity in my work to ensure positive and successful outcomes.
I have worked on rehabilitation projects for rural highways within North-Central and Central Alberta as well as urban projects such as the Yellowhead Trail Freeway Conversion project and pavement designs for Strathcona County. Through working in multi-disciplinary projects, I have developed stronger communication and collaborative skills which are essential in completing these projects successfully. My goal is to acquire more experience with Project Management as well as explore leadership opportunities.
I joined Al-Terra four years ago after completing my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Calgary and in my role, I have had various experiences and opportunities for growth both at Al-Terra and within the industry. I am passionate about working with the next generation of female engineers and I accomplish this through volunteering and working alongside organizations such as Women in Engineering and Women of Asphalt. This gives me an opportunity to connect with young women who are considering engineering as a profession as well as young professionals who are starting out in their careers. Through sharing my experiences and hearing from my peers, I believe I can carve out a well-balanced and sustainable path for myself.
