What advice would you give a person who is just starting out in engineering?
The best piece of advice I have is to always be curious. If there is something you don't know or you don't understand, ask questions until you do. There is no shame in admitting you don't knowing something.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
I think the many hours of my childhood playing in my mom's garden with toy trucks and dozers, turning into a construction site every year, was a pretty good indicator that I was going to be an engineer.

What is your favourite thing about working at Al-Terra?
This is a bit corny, but my favorite part of working at Al-Terra are the people. I started with Al-Terra as a Co-op student, and I enjoyed working with everyone so much that I knew I wanted to work here full-time.

As the leader of our Rural Transportation Group, I specialize in the design, construction, and rehabilitation of roadways for provincial and municipal clients. My approach is rooted in a deep understanding of every detail, ensuring that the solutions we provide are not only effective but sustainable. With over 25 years of experience in the engineering and transportation industry, I am passionate about delivering tailored solutions that meet the unique needs of each project.

I began my career at Al-Terra as a co-op student, and over the years, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to all aspects of projects, from surveying to project management. While I primarily focus on rural transportation, my diverse background also includes land development, industrial development, urban transportation, and planning. This broad experience has given me a unique perspective, enabling me to tackle a wide variety of projects with confidence and innovation.

Outside of work, I’m an avid traveler and camper, often spending time with my family exploring the great outdoors. In the winter, you’ll likely find me in a curling rink, either playing or coaching my kids.
