What inspired you to become a surveyor?
My dad. He was a surveyor, and every once in a while he would bring me out to the field with him. Being outside in nature is what drew me to want to be a surveyor.

What is your favourite thing about your career or industry?
Surveying has taken me all over the province of Alberta and I have been involved in a variety of projects. From finding survey evidence placed in the early 1900's to the as-built of a swimming pool for international certification. Every day is a new adventure.

What is an interesting fact about you?
I enjoy endurance sports like running and cycling. I have completed seven marathons and have the ambition to one day complete an Ironman (3.8 km swim, 180 km bike and 42.2 km run).

As a senior geomatics technician for Al-Terra’s northern geomatics team, I am responsible for collecting field data for designs and layout information for construction projects. One of my core priorities is ensuring that every project starts with a solid foundation of reliable data. I take pride in my ability to deliver high-quality results that clients can trust. From gathering survey data to creating layouts that guide construction teams, my work plays a crucial role in the successful completion of each project.

I also make it a point to stay current with the latest advancements in geomatics technology. By continuously learning and adapting to new tools and techniques, I can provide innovative solutions that improve accuracy, streamline processes, and save time for my clients. Whether it’s leveraging GPS technology, advanced surveying equipment, or cutting-edge software, I ensure that my methods align with the highest industry standards. My goal is to provide data that serves as a strong foundation for successful and efficient project outcomes.

I started my survey career in 2003 in the oil and gas sector, surveying well sites and pipelines all throughout Alberta. This work helped me build problem solving and organization skills in controlled yet remote environments.
