Enhanced Water Solutions
Al-Terra provides comprehensive water resource engineering solutions for public and private sector clients. This includes but is not limited to, the design and rehabilitation of utility and stormwater management infrastructure and site infrastructure, drainage analysis, erosion and sediment control planning and design, watercourse crossing design, floodplain delineation and mapping, water network modelling, and low-impact development (LID) design and quality control (i.e., hydraulic conductivity testing). Our goal is to provide safe, sustainable, low-impact solutions for water management that facilitate growth and redevelopment.
Many communities are working to revive rivers and waterfronts by carefully planning appropriate uses and redeveloping nearby properties and parkland. LID facilities can be integrated within the road right of way and green spaces in these neighbourhoods. These approaches help mitigate flooding and aid with stormwater management. Designing these systems also provides opportunities to address environmental challenges through urban design and development. The use of LID supports natural infrastructure such as trees planted alongside soil cells, contributing to sustainability and reducing the urban heat island effect.
