Do you have any talents or skills that people may not know about?
I can solve a Rubik's Cube in less than 1 minute (25 seconds is my record!).

What was the most valuable lesson that you learned from your education?
Going to university is 10% about learning the material and 90% learning about how to learn the material. Having tight deadlines and having to cram for a test the next day really makes you good at being able to learn and adapt very quickly, which is a very important skill especially in this field where I am learning new things everyday.

What is your favourite Al-Terra core value, and why?
My favourite Al-Terra core value is Cultivating Exceptional Professionals. Having had the opportunity to work with multiple teams across the company, I have seen this value demonstrated firsthand throughout my time at Al-Terra. As someone who has progressed from a co-op student to an Engineering-In-Training, I am proud to be a reflection of that commitment and investment in professional development.

Since joining Al-Terra in 2023 as an Engineering Co-op student from the University of Alberta, I have had the opportunity to return to both the Calgary and Edmonton offices over the past three years. These experiences have allowed me to enhance my technical expertise, deepen my understanding of the industry, and foster strong relationships within the organization. After graduating from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, I joined Al-Terra full-time as an Engineering-In-Training based in Calgary.

In this role, I support both the Southern and Northern site development teams through collaboration across regions. I contribute to the planning and design of underground servicing and stormwater management systems for residential, commercial, and institutional developments across Calgary, Edmonton, and the surrounding areas.

With Al-Terra, I have had many opportunities to support a wide range of interesting projects like the Red Deer Regional Ambulatory Care building, where I was responsible for the design of the off-site utilities upgrade and addition, as well as the regrading of the lot and the back lane for the new building.

On projects such as the Fox Creek ATCO yard, I was responsible for the design, project and construction management activities, including developing and maintain project schedule Gantt charts to track construction milestones, as well as coming up with a design to deal with the drainage issues the site had been experiencing.

Through my involvement in diverse projects across Alberta, I have developed a versatile skill set in civil design, enabling me to deliver practical and client-focused solutions throughout all stages of a project. My goal is to obtain my Professional Engineer License and continue to deliver projects successfully across Alberta.

Outside of work, I enjoy golfing, basketball, and camping with my dog, Toby.
