In this full-time position, you will oversee and direct a team of field crew members, ensuring the efficient and accurate execution of land surveys and data collection activities. Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise a dedicated field crew team in conducting land surveys and data collection. Use advanced GIS technologies for effective mapping and data management. Collaborate closely with project managers to ensure survey projects are completed accurately and on schedule. Provide training and mentorship on survey techniques, equipment operation, and safety protocols. This role requires frequent communication and collaboration with team members and project stakeholders. Perform quality control checks to uphold data accuracy and integrity. This role will also be responsible for overseeing applicable equipment maintenance and inventory levels.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A diploma or degree in a relevant field or 2+ years of related experience in Oil and Gas, Construction, and Legal Surveys.
  • Must have experience with robotic total stations, GNSS Equipment, and Digital Levels
  • Willing to work outside in varying weather conditions
  • Strong ability to build and maintain databases for efficient data management with applicable skills in data collection techniques.
  • Computer skills including Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • A commitment to accuracy
  • 2 years surveying experience required
  • A valid driver’s license.
  • Communication skills.
  •  Valid safety certificates are an asset (First Aid/CPR, CSTS, Ground Disturbance, and H2S Alive certification).

  • $25 to $50/hour, 8 or 10 hours/day – Wage based on education, experience or a combination of both

Location

This position is based out of our Edmonton office but requires significant time on out-of-office field work.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time 40 hours per week.
  • Travel and overtime, including weekends, may be required.
