What are some causes you care about?
Building the community around you is what I believe in. Whether this is done through creating more equitable public spaces in landscape architecture, or giving back where you can − every aspect counts. I chaired the Al-Terra Charity Committee for 2024 with my colleague, Catherine. We chose Second Chance Animal Rescue Society (SCARS), based in Northern Alberta, as their dedication to support both animals and people in challenging circumstances inspires us.

What are you happiest doing when you’re not working?
I am happiest exploring in the open air with my family and dogs. Coming from the prairies of Manitoba, I take any opportunity to spend time hiking, camping, or snowboarding in the Rocky Mountains.

What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
I wanted to be an architect, until I found out that landscape architecture existed! The ability to design with living materials through time makes landscape architecture different from all other design professions.

In my role at Al-Terra, I’ve applied my expertise as a Landscape Designer and Construction Administrator since March 2023. I bring a deep passion for landscape architecture as a form of public infrastructure that enhances communities and promotes well-being. With a strong attention to detail, informed analysis, and effective collaborative skills, I strive to create sustainability and resiliency that supports the long-term success of landscapes.

My project experience spans a variety of impactful designs, including a public plaza for a pedestrian bridge rehabilitation, multi-family residential developments, a solar farm demonstration plaza, and wetland riparian restoration from preliminary design through to detail design and tendering. In addition, my construction management experience in land development and arterial road projects has strengthened my problem-solving abilities, particularly in maintaining project timelines and adapting to complex site requirements. My commitment to building strong client and contractor relationships supports open communication and project continuity to exceed project expectations.

Outside of work, my favorite time is spent adventuring with my dogs in the open air. I am also a landscape photographer and residential landscape design business owner, further reflecting my passion for all aspects of design. With a Bachelor of Environmental Design and a Master of Landscape Architecture, I am actively working towards achieving my designation as a Landscape Architect.
