What does Al-Terra’s purpose, “We Create Confidence” mean to you?
"We Create Confidence" explains how each department and employee work together. By teaching, learning, and relying on one other to work through solutions, Al‑Terra is creating confidence in each individual. As I gain experience and work on projects with different people, I am increasing my confidence every day.

If you could give a younger person career advice, what would it be?
As a woman in engineering who recently graduated, I would say, “Never be afraid to speak up and ask questions.” Do not be intimidated if people around you know all the information and you do not. Ask questions and take the time to learn.

What are you happiest doing when you’re not working?
I am happiest when I am spending time with my bunny and cat, and I guess my husband too.

I am an Engineer‑in‑Training (E.I.T.) who helps design and manage construction projects within the developer arterials department. I recently joined Al‑Terra in the spring of 2024, and I am currently expanding my knowledge within the engineering design world. My previous experience includes being on‑site with field crews as a surveyor and, most recently, being a project coordinator for a microtunnelling project. Within my previous roles, I was able to learn how to effectively communicate with on‑site personnel and how to use the information from the office to make better judgements in the field.

Moving forward, I am inspired to learn more about Project Management and the process of detailed design. Since I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alberta, I have been actively working towards obtaining my Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation. During this time, as an E.I.T., I am excited to progress in my role at Al‑Terra where I can apply my skills in a new environment and take on new challenges. I’m especially looking forward to contributing to a team that values growth and collaboration.
