I am an Engineer-in-Training working in Land Development along with some neighbourhood rehabilitation projects in Fort Saskatchewan. My role typically consists of organizing survey, completing design, and general project management such as performing quantity take-offs for estimates and contractor payables, or leading site meetings and documenting minutes or inspection items. My current work in civil engineering ultimately aims to provide or maintain places for people to live, and I have had the privilege of being a part of developing multiple new subdivision stages in Ardrossan and Fort Saskatchewan, in addition to a few neighbourhood rehabilitation projects in Fort Saskatchewan. Being involved in a project’s entire life cycle has taught me invaluable experience, from topographical survey to producing record drawings and final project information packages.
I started working for Al-Terra full-time in 2020 after completing my Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at the University of Alberta, during which I spent my first 8-month Engineering Co-op term at the company in 2017. I went into Engineering after completing a Bachelor of Science with a specialization in Mathematics in 2015. Rooted with a passion for math, I believed that engineering would transform my love of math into a career with tangible outcomes.
This past year, along with Alyssa Magas and most recently Vicki Van Orman, I have helped organize charity fundraising events and track donations for the company in support of the Second Chance Animal Rescue Society (SCARS).
When I am not busy at work, I spend my time horse-back riding, playing soccer, volleyball, skiing, running, and most recently curling. Although it has been a few years, I have been involved in competitive showjumping in British Columbia, Manitoba, and across Alberta.
