I am an experienced Senior Legal Survey Technician working for Al-Terra’s Southern Geomatics team. I have a deep understanding of legal procedures, creating various legal plans, handling boundary calculations, and preparing work for field crews. These days, my focus is on training my talented younger colleague, Danni Chen, to take on my responsibilities when I eventually retire.

I began my career in Czechoslovakia as an independent land surveyor, working both in the field and in the office to process survey data. After relocating to Canada with my family in the summer of 1987, I joined a land surveying company in Toronto as a draftsman. In 1989, we moved to Calgary, where I continued my work as a draftsman for Kellam Berg Engineering (now Al-Terra). This experience was invaluable, especially working alongside mentors like Ron Kellam and Wayne Berg, from whom I learned immensely.

It’s been a rewarding journey, and I’m proud to pass on my knowledge to the next generation of professionals in the field.
