What did you think you were going to be when you grew up?
I fondly remember my dream of becoming a veterinarian and working as a social worker to help stray animals in need in India. One of my cherished childhood memories is getting my mom’s help to care for stray dogs. She is my idol for being so kind and compassionate. I recall sneaking stray dogs into our home on cold winter nights without letting my father see them. Considering I already had two dogs of my own, that wasn’t easy at all! While I may not pursue a career as a vet, I still hold onto my dream of possibly starting an NGO someday.

What inspired you to become a Landscape Designer?
I was an Architecture student when the late Professor Ravindra Bhan, known as the father of Landscape Architecture in India, visited our college for a seminar on his prestigious projects. That moment was a turning point for me; it sparked a sudden urge to explore Landscape Architecture further. Fortunately, I had the incredible opportunity to learn more from Prof. Bhan as an intern at his firm, and I have never looked back since!

I work as a Landscape Designer at Al-Terra, a role I truly enjoy. My passion lies in merging creative vision with practical solutions to craft landscapes that are not only functional but also visually appealing. With extensive experience across diverse projects and geographical locations, I bring a unique perspective to my work. Having a bachelor’s degree in architecture and a master’s degree in landscape architecture has equipped me to see design from different angles. There is an unmatched thrill in witnessing my designs transform into reality. I find inspiration everywhere, and it brings me joy to see landscapes evolve into spaces where people can gather and connect.

Collaboration is at the heart of my design process. By starting with the user’s perspective, I aim to create spaces that genuinely meet the community’s needs and desires. Connecting with people and understanding their visions is truly rewarding, and I take pride in bringing those ideas to life in a way that reflects their style. As a plant enthusiast, nothing delights me more than being surrounded by lush greenery. Nurturing plants and watching their growth is immensely satisfying, and I love sharing that joy with others. This deep appreciation for nature fuels my creativity and enhances my work.

My goal is to create landscapes that people cherish and feel a connection to, encouraging them to appreciate the beauty of thoughtful design and nature. Together, let’s bring your vision to life and create something beautiful!
