What is your favourite thing about working at Al-Terra?
I love the people I work with. From ripping down the ski hill a little too fast with Catherine to absolutely destroying Brad, Curtis, and Rob at board games, we have a great team to work and play with.

What inspired you to become an Engineer?
In junior high school I was stuck spending over two hours on the bus every day and I thought, there's got to be a better way, so I tried biking to school. It sucked. I don't know why I stuck with it but I did. In sticking with cycling, I improved my health and halved my commute time. Now, I want to improve our active transportation system so others can make that same decision to improve their mobility and their lives.

Do you have any hobbies?
I pulled off a 4:23 marathon! The ultimate goal is a triathlon.

I work on arterial roadway, active transportation, and neighbourhood renewal projects. I strive to bring my passion to build a transportation system that is sustainable, safe and accessible to all users, into my work.

As a year-round cyclist, I’m looking forward to being able to bring my rare perspective of our transportation system into the project teams I work with. It all started at the University of Alberta where I achieved a bilingual degree in Civil Engineering and will hopefully cumulate with me becoming a leader in active transportation design. While the path there is long, I’m looking forward to a lifelong journey of learning from all the bright minds in our industry.

In the rare moments when I’m not working, you’ll find me at the top of the Rockies either in a pair of hiking boots or skis. The mountains are my home away from home.
